The right way to make it
Mix salt, sugar, zests, and basil in a mixing bowl. Generously season all sides of salmon with curing combination.
Place in a glass, Pyrex, or plastic dish. Cowl with plastic wrap and go away in fridge in a single day.
The next day, completely rinse curing combination from salmon. Pat dry with paper towels, then enable to air dry in fridge for an hour. Slice thinly and serve.
